Another barn find Jensen SP for a full nut and bolt restoration.
The car has been stripped to a bare shell and sent for welding work whilst we start refurbishing the removed parts.
Since stripping the car the owner has taken the bodyshell to Hightone Restorations who have carried out the extensive metalwork repairs and the car has now been finished in clearcoat over bare metal with a vinyl wrapped roof. They will be fitting up the brightwork and glass before returning a finished bodyshell back to Oily Rag Classics who will be carrying out the mechanical, electrical and trim work.
We have stripped the engine to find it very worn and although a numbers matching car a previous owner had carried out some work on the engine and replaced the six pack cam and timing gear with standard 440 parts.
The engine block has now been machined for +30 pistons and the entire rotating assembly has been balanced, the engine is being rebuilt to standard SP specifications with the addition of Edelbrock heads and Harland Sharp roller rockers, then fitted with a fuel injection kit.
Many parts have now been refurbished ready to be refitted when the shell returns to us.
